Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 3 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2.5 teaspoons quick yeast (or one package)
  • 1.33 cups warm water
  • 2 large sprigs rosemary diced
  • 3 cloves garlic diced

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, salt, and quick yeast.
  • Slowly add the warm water, garlic, and diced rosemary. Stir until a sticky, shaggy dough forms.
  • Cover the bowl with a towel and place it in a warm spot. Let it rise for 60 minutes until it doubles in size.
  • Dust a piece of parchment paper with flour. Transfer your dough to this surface and shape it into a ball by folding the edges over toward the center.
  • Flip it so the smooth side is up, cover with a towel, and let it rest for another 20 minutes while your Dutch oven heats.
  • Place the empty Dutch oven in your oven and preheat to 450°F (232°C).

Baking

  • Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven and place your dough on the parchment paper.
  • Score the top with a knife to allow it to expand while baking.
  • Cover the Dutch oven with its lid and bake for 30 minutes.
  • After that, remove the lid and continue to bake for another 10 minutes to achieve a beautiful golden crust.
  • Once done, allow the bread to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or freeze wrapped securely. Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
